For the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ford brought an improved version of the GT40 which showed a lot of speed. Ferrari responded by bringing their latest prototypes which revealed to be quite competitive. Within the first three hours of the race all the Ford GT40s had failed, leaving the victory for Ferrari ton grab. However, all the Ferrari factory-entered cars failed too. The NART (North American Racing Team) Ferrari 250 LM entry (race number 21) driven by Masten Gregory and Jochen Rinds took the lead by mid-day on Sunday and kept it until the end, giving Ferrari their last win for the next 58 years.

Original is a 10" x 20" oil on canvas, available from the Reflections Elégante Fine Art Gallery, 271 Alvarado Mall, Monterey, California.
