Cocktail Hour

The Martini International Racing Team’s Porsche 917K driven by Gijs van Lennep and Helmut Marko leads the JW Automotive Engineering’s version of the same car, driven by Richard Attwood and Herbert Müler, in the 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans. They finished first and second respectively, albeit three laps apart.  

Despite both cars hitting mechanical troubles at some point in the race, they covered over 3300 miles in 24 hours, a record that would last 39 years.
